Lead FX TD

 

We are looking for a Lead FX Technical Director to join our incredibly talented, passionate, close-knit team at our Guildford-based studio. The role would involve work on high-end visitor attraction projects as well as more traditional visual effects productions. We’ve got some really exciting projects coming up this year and into 2019, which the successful candidate would be heavily involved with. This role will require working on-site at our studio in Guildford, Surrey.

The ideal candidate will be to create high quality CG renditions of fire, smoke, water, cloth, destruction and other kinds of particulates. The role will involve both hands-on FX work as well as overseeing and advising other members of the FX team to ensure that all work is delivered to the highest possible standard.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the planning and creation of fluid, cloth, rigid-body and hair/fur simulations
  • Helping to develop more efficient pipelines and working techniques
  • Assist creative leads and project managers with the planning, estimation and scheduling of FX work to ensure that we create the best possible work in the time available
  • Collaborate well with fellow artists and supervisors, providing feedback and guidance where needed

The following skills are essential:

  • Advanced knowledge of one or more of Maya, 3Ds Max or Houdini
  • Excellent experience with large-scale, photorealistic water/ocean simulation
  • A solid understanding of the visual effects process as a whole
  • A well-developed creative eye and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated with good time management skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to offer ideas and solutions with a ‘can do’ attitude

Other desirable skills include:

  • Working knowledge of VRay or Arnold renderers
  • Previous experience of VR production
  • Experience managing production between multiple software packages
  • Experience with compositing packages (After Effects or Nuke preferred)

Lead Animator

 

We are looking for a lead animator to join our incredibly talented, passionate, close-knit team at our Guildford-based studio. The role would involve work on high end VR projects as well as more traditional visual effects productions. We’ve got some really exciting projects coming up this year and into 2019, which the successful candidate would be heavily involved with.

This role will require working on-site at our studio in Guildford, Surrey.

The ideal candidate will be able to create high quality animation for both real-time and pre-rendered applications. The candidate should also have good experience working with technical elements of animation and be comfortable taking artistic direction when appropriate. The role will involve both hands-on animation as well as overseeing and advising other members of the animation team to ensure that all work is delivered to the highest possible standard.

Along with the above, the following skills are essential:

  • Advanced knowledge of Maya and/or 3Ds Max
  • The ability to animate in a variety of styles
  • A well-developed creative eye and strong attention to detail
  • Assist creative leads and project managers with the planning, estimation and scheduling of animation work to ensure that we create the best possible work in the time available
  • Collaborate well with fellow artists and supervisors, providing feedback and guidance where needed
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated with good time management skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to offer ideas and solutions with a ‘can do’ attitude

Other desirable skills include:

  • Experience of VR production pipeline
  • Experience with Unreal and Unity game engines
  • Experience working with motion capture data
  • Strong, practical understanding of rigging

Junior Software Developer

 

We are looking for a full time pro-active Developer to work on a variety of projects from world famous visitor attractions to interactive exhibits, multi-screen films to websites and apps, including multiple projects involving virtual reality. Great visuals and user experiences are at the heart of everything we do, and no project is ever the same. We are extremely busy and looking to grow our team of developers, creating unique solutions for a variety of clients nationally and internationally.

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years’ experience with Unity and C#, or Unreal and C++, preferably including Android although not essential. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work to deadlines, provide solutions to challenging requirements, and look forward to working with new technologies as a project requires.

We are extremely busy and looking to grow our team of developers, creating unique solutions for a variety of clients nationally and internationally.

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years’ experience with with Unity and C#, or Unreal and C++, preferably including Android although not essential. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work to deadlines, provide solutions to challenging requirements, and look forward to working with new technologies as a project requires, as well as mentoring the junior members of the team as required.
